Members of the Commission for European Integration of the BiH Parliament, RS National Assembly, FBiH Parliament and representatives of the Brčko District Assembly will meet tomorrow in Sarajevo for the initiative “Parliament for Europe”, which is being held under the auspices of the European Union.

At this meeting they will discuss the steps that have to be taken in order to make progress on issues dealing with the submission of credible applications for membership and priorities from the Progress Report on BiH for 2012.

The Deputy Head of the EU Delegation Renzo Daviddi and the advisor for the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Marić will open the first session of the discussion on key tasks of BiH for the road to EU integration, as well as progress in achieving the road map regarding political dialogue at a high level.

At this meeting, the Director of the Directorate for European Integration of BiH (DEI) Nevenka Savić will focus on practical challenges that the Directorate faces in the absence of a political agreement on key European issues.

During the meeting with officials from the EU, Parliamentarians from BiH will have the chance to listen to regional experiences of parliamentarians in preparation of a credible application for EU membership and on accelerating the pace harmonization of legal regulations.

This is the fifth cycle of the initiative “Parliament for Europe”, which gathers parliamentarians from BiH with officials from the EU, parliamentary representatives of EU members states and neighboring countries on the ways in which they can improve the process of EU accession.
