IrinejAt yesterday’s meeting of dignitaries of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the highest officials of Republika Srpska that was held in Bijeljina, they have concluded that unity and mutual respect of representatives of the Serbian people at all levels of government is necessary in the future.

After the meeting, Patriarch Irinej of Serbia said that they have discussed the current issues, the views of the Church and Serbian officials were expressed, and that the conclusions from this meeting will serve as a landmark for future activities.

“We talked the way that fits those who are representing the people and those who are representing the Church. I think we have good insight and we talked enough about all those issues, and it will be a landmark in our lives and in our behavior today and in the future,” emphasized Patriarch.

Irinej told reporters that the representatives of the Church came to discuss with the representatives of Republika Srpska some current issues that are present in our time, to express the opinion of the Church regarding these issues and to hear what the authorities of Republika Srpska think about them.
