The service in the honor of the Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church Porphyry, who arrived to visit the Metropolitanate of Daborbosna, began in the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Sarajevo.

The Patriarch of Porphyry stated that his heart was filled with true joy, the joy of God that is in the beautiful city of Sarajevo.

Also, he said that it was a very generous city, open to all four corners of the world, where people from different parts of the world came, brought gifts to it, but also made fortune and came out of it.

He spoke of the beauty of the diversity of those who have lived here for centuries.

“Sarajevo has been a welcoming city for centuries, and Orthodox Serbs in this city have been living in it since the 14th century and praying to God. The Church of the Holy Archangels testifies to that. However, other nations who believe in the same God, but pray to God in different ways, not only that they have established their existence, but permeate each other into a true community. There are few cities like Sarajevo, there are almost none such cities in Europe, ” explained Patriarch Porphyry.

Further, he added that the fortune of Sarajevo is that there are various places of worship within a few hundred meters.

The Patriarch is staying in Sarajevo on the occasion of 50 years of monastic and 30 years of episcopal service of Metropolitan Chrysostom. Numerous priests are present at this prayer act.
