Pezer won a Bronze Medal at the European Throwing Cup

Shot putter Mesud Pezer ended the winter athletics season with today’s performance at the European Throwing Cup in Leiria, Portugal, where he won third place and a bronze medal with a shot of 20.58 meters.

This was Pezer’s first outdoor performance this winter, where Italian Zane Weir won first place and the gold medal, winning with a shot from the second series of 21.55 meters. Weir achieved this length in the last, sixth series, that is, the last shot of the competition.

The second place and the silver medal was won by the British Scott Lincoln with a length of 20.98 meters, and the fourth was the Romanian Andrei Rares Toader with 20.43 meters.

By the way, Pezer had a very even performance in series today. Thus, in the first series he threw 20.22, in the second 20.44, in the third 20.58, in the fourth 20.42, in the fifth 20.56 and in the sixth 20.55 meters.

Pezer’s bronze medal included Bosnia and Herzegovina in the list of medal winners at this competition, in which junior senior women and senior women competed in the javelin, shot put, discus and hammer throws for the past two days, and in which, so far, medals have been won by female competitors and competitors from a total of 21 countries.

The Italian Leonardo Fabri, who 10 days ago won a bronze medal at the World Indoor Championship in Glasgow, Scotland (21.96 meters), and who was also announced to perform in Leiria, did not perform in this competition.

Today’s first-placed Vir in Glasgow was fourth, with a length of 21.85 meters, while second-placed Lincoln at the WC was tenth, with a length of 20.36 meters. Pezer was ninth in Glasgow with 20.41 meters.

Last month, Pezer won the title of Balkan champion at the Balkan indoor championship in Istanbul, and his personal and BH title. the indoor record, which was 21.15 meters until this season, improved to 21.42 meters after six years.
