muent brown novalicPrime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) Fadil Novalic with the director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for Western Balkan countries, Holger Muent. Today’s meeting was also attended by the Director of the EBRD Representative Office in BiH, Ian Brown.

At the headquarters of the FBiH Government in Sarajevo, it was concluded that investments in BiH last year amounted to 200 million euros in 15 projects. To be more precise, these projects were mainly investments and the continuation of the same is planned for 2017. Muent noted that these were a significant asset, but also evidence that projects are being implemented.

Currently, the EBRD has a number of projects in BiH, mostly focused on infrastructure, the local community, and small and medium sized enterprises. Projects, with help of credit, have significantly improved their competitiveness and achieved European Union standards. Moreover, Significant benefit from these funds is seen in the construction of Corridor 5-C, presenting the largest planned project in BiH this year.

At the meeting, they also speak about the preparations for the Western Balkans Summit, which will be held in Trieste on July 12th, making it a step forward in strengthening regional co-operation.
