Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković is visiting Rijeka today, and on that occasion he also made a statement to the media commenting on the current migrant crisis on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to Plenković, 6,500 members of the police have been engaged in protecting the external border of the European Union, and that is quite enough.
“There is no army at the borders, Croatia is not at war. Ignore their (Most’s) ideas,” Plenković said.
He said that he expects greater involvement of the police of Bosnia and Herzegovina in monitoring the exit of people. According to him, Croatia has minor problems with migrants compared to Italy, France, and Germany.
“What we expect from partners, like Bosnia and Herzegovina, is to control the exit from their country, not just the entrance,” Plenković said.
As a reminder, the special forces on duty at the border of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the area of Karlovac County reported to their authorities that a group of migrants that they had diverted to Bosnia and Herzegovina the day before yesterday in the afternoon had been shot at.
Whether they were shot by migrants, smugglers or someone else is not yet known. The Croatian police and their colleagues from Bosnia and Herzegovina are investigating the case, it was confirmed for Klix.ba.
