The Vukovar-Srijem police department reported that a 25-year-old citizen of Great Britain was arrested on Wednesday at the Bajakovo border crossing, for whom a warrant was previously issued on suspicion of breaking into a house in Nuštra and taking jewelry in May 2017.

The police announced that a warrant was issued for a 25-year-old British man after a criminal investigation related to the burglary of a family home in Nuštra was conducted and the identity of the man linked to that crime was established.

Since the identified man was unavailable to the police, a search was launched for him, points out the PU of Vukovar-Srijem.

As a result of the search, the police continue, a 25-year-old citizen of Great Britain was arrested at the Bajakovo border crossing and a criminal investigation was conducted on him, which confirmed the suspicion that he broke into a house in Nuštra and took jewelry and money from it.

The police add that the suspect caused material damage to the 61-year-old owner of the family home in the amount of hundreds of euros.

The suspect was handed over to the custody supervisor of the Vukovar-Srijem Police Department on Thursday, the police added.
