A delegation from Canton Sarajevo (CS), led by Minister of Economy Zlatko Mijatovic, presented CS at one of the most important global events in the tourism industry – the FITUR 2025 international tourism fair. The visit was carried out with the support of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in Madrid, in cooperation with the CS Tourist Board and Sarajevo International Airport.

During his stay in Madrid, Minister Mijatovic held a series of meetings with representatives of Spanish cities, tourist agencies, and institutions, with a particular highlight being a meeting at the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of Spain with Ms. Alicia Rocio Varela, Director General for International Trade and Investment. The meeting addressed the establishment of new direct air routes between Sarajevo and Spain, as well as opportunities for strengthening trade exchange.

“The promotion of CS at this prestigious event represents a key step toward improving our tourism sector. The established contacts and negotiations on new air routes open doors for increasing the number of visitors from Spain and further strengthening economic ties between our countries,” Minister Mijatovic emphasized.

The visit to the FITUR 2025 fair was assessed as extremely successful, laying the foundations for further promotion of CS, intensifying cultural exchange, and improving bilateral relations with Spain. In the coming period, activities are planned to implement the agreed initiatives and strengthen cooperation with international partners.
