BiH has the potential to produce medicinal herbs whose exports in the last three years exceed 20 million.
The Director of economy in the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH Zdravko Marinković confirmed that mushrooms and forest plants make up most of the exports.
‘’The export of medicinal herbs in the last 3 years are around 20-22 million KM each year. The most frequent are funghi, which mark around 15 million KM of exports annually, then forest plants’’, said Marinković.
In comparison to 2011, the export of essential oils increased by 80 percent, which shows that in BiH the processing of medicinal herbs has begun.
