Presidency of BiH discussed the Number of Key Topics

At its last session, the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina discussed a number of key topics and made decisions of importance for international cooperation, security, economy and cultural events.

“The Presidency has approved the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The mandate of members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina participating in the European Union Training Mission in the Central African Republic has been extended. The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina has made decisions on the donation – transfer of weapons, ammunition and mines and explosive devices to the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, announced BiH Presidency Member Denis Bećirović.

Decisions on international agreements and cooperation The Presidency approved the conclusion and signing of:

Memorandum of Understanding on Economic Cooperation with the Republic of Cuba;
Agreement on the Participation of BiH in the European Union Employment and Social Innovation Programme (EaSI);
Protocol with Lithuania on the Implementation of the Readmission Agreement; Memorandum between FIPA and the China-Europe Association on Technical and Economic Cooperation.
Amendments to the Statute of the UN World Tourism Organization and its Financial Rules were also adopted.

Ratification of International Agreements The Presidency adopted a number of decisions on the ratification of important international agreements, including:

Cross-border cooperation programs with Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro;

Agreement on the participation of BiH in the “Digital Europe” and “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values” (CERV) programs;

Emergency Grant Agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development;

Universal Postal Union Acts adopted at the 2021 Congress in Abidjan;

Amendments to existing financial and project agreements, including projects to strengthen infrastructure, geoinformation and support to businesses.

Information from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations on the categorization of the Gradiška border crossing was noted. The Council of Ministers of BiH is tasked with negotiating with Croatia on preserving the status of the crossing as an inspection border crossing.

The Presidency also considered the situation in the field of migration for 2023 and the beginning of 2024, based on information from the Ministry of Security.

The Presidency of BiH accepted the sponsorship of the “Sportsman of the Year” event, which will be held on December 18, 2024 in Sarajevo.

The invitations of the President of the UAE to participate in the World Government Summit in February 2025 and the invitation of the President of Turkey to participate in the 4th Antalya Diplomatic Forum, which will be held from April 11 to 13, 2025, were accepted.

These decisions confirm the commitment of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina to strengthening international relations, regional cooperation and internal development of the country.
