Israeli President Isaac Herzog arrived on an official visit to Serbia, and a formal official welcome with the highest honors was organized in front of the Palace of Serbia, where Herzog was welcomed by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
The President of Israel was also welcomed by Serbian Ministers Siniša Mali, Marko Đurić, Dejan Ristić, and Minister Maja Popović as well as Director of the Office for IT Mihailo Jovanović.
As announced by the Media Relations Office of the President of Serbia, Herzog and Vučić will have a bilateral meeting, which will be followed by a meeting of the delegations of Israel and Serbia.
The Israeli president will also participate in the work of the round table on the topic “Synergy in innovations, talks between Serbia and Israel”.
The President of the Serbian Assembly, Ana Brnabić, said on Tuesday that Herzog’s visit today will provide “an important impulse for a new phase in the development” of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Statements to the media by the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog, are planned for 11:55 a.m., the Office for Media Relations of the Serbian President announced.
Herzog’s visit to Serbia comes at the time of the war that Israel is waging in the Gaza Strip against the militant Palestinian organization Hamas, in which, according to health organizations in Gaza, more than 40,000 people have been killed so far.
The Balkan Research Network (BIRN) recently announced, in cooperation with the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, that Serbia, despite warnings from the United Nations to stop arms sales to Israel due to possible war crimes against civilians, continued to export arms to that country.
According to statistics collected by Haaretz for more than 10 months, Serbia is at the top of the list of countries from which Israeli military aircraft fly, writes BIRN.
Convincingly, the bases of the United States of America around the world are in the first place, according to this network, transmitting the data they obtained in the research with their Israeli colleagues.
