President of RS: Nobody asked for Help from NATO

The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as constitutionally competent, did not ask for any help from the NATO alliance.

He proposed that the Presidency not accept the aid that that alliance approved for BiH.

“BiH is a ridiculous and deplorable country when others decide to help it, and no one has even asked for that help. The only authority for military and security issues is the Presidency, which neither in the last nor in this convocation neither considered nor asked NATO for any help.” said Dodik.

He stated that this is why NATO’s decision on aid looks like it is aimed at interfering in the internal affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina – that NATO is reacting like this and allegedly sending some aid for which no one knows what it is, how much it is, or who it serves, or who will use it.

Dodik pointed out that in this way they show how insecure Bosnia and Herzegovina is and how essentially it is divided.

“BiH is a completely divided society, and with this behavior, NATO best manifests it in its own way,” emphasized Dodik.

According to him, BiH does not need new weapons or security systems.

“BiH needs something else that NATO does not have. It is obvious that the introduction of weapons into BiH from the NATO program is not the decision of the authorities of BiH and it is not a single decision of everyone,” said Dodik.

He said that it would be wise for NATO to support the constitutional structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and not to behave in such an arrogant and exclusionary manner towards the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The President of Republika Srpska emphasized that the Presidency is the only place that should decide on this, not the NATO alliance.

“I suggest that the Presidency does not make a decision on accepting it and that we show that we are somewhat, at least somewhat, a sovereign country,” said Dodik.

As a rule, they, he added, send systems that have already been overhauled, with which they want to show their commitment to BiH, but in this way they most often show and will show in the long term – their wrong moves towards BiH.

“NATO is not BiH’s commitment. NATO is for cooperation, but in that cooperation there should be two sides, not just one – NATO, which because of stupid assessments about the alleged Russian influence, now wants to cut down on weapons here,” said Dodik.

The only correct policy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he stressed, is demilitarization, not the concentration of weapons and armaments.

“So NATO is not helping Bosnia and Herzegovina, moreover, it is a bad donor, especially from the point of view that no body in Bosnia and Herzegovina has decided on this or made any request about the need for such things. If someone did, then that was all beyond the Constitution and the law, because the only constitutional place for that is the Presidency, which has never made a decision on it,” emphasized Dodik.

At the recent ministerial meeting of NATO member countries in Brussels, a package of aid to our country was approved, which includes nine projects for the defense system and three for security, the total value of which is tens of millions of euros, announced the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In this regard, in the coming period, the preparation of the implementation plan will be started, which will also determine the dynamics of the delivery of equipment provided for in the aid projects for equipping the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Security.
