The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, whose name leads the list “Serbia must not stand still”, said this evening that this list at the republic level, without votes from Kosovo, won 46.5 percent of the votes, based on 76 percent of the votes counted and more than 127 mandates in the parliament.
“An absolute victory for which I am extremely happy. We promised the people that Serbia would be a different country, that they would not recognize it in three years. We have a lot left to do. We have a lot of important things left to do. But to get this much votes, for this to be the second best result in history after 11 years of rule, I have to say that I am infinitely happy,” said Vučić after today’s extraordinary elections.
He pointed out that after such a convincing victory, they will have to change themselves.
“We will have to take care of ordinary people more. We will have to work on many other things, there will be a difficult period ahead of us. But we will also have to talk there, to continue our European path, and there will be difficult negotiations and not easy concessions with Pristina as well. , but we will always protect Kosovo as part of the territory of Serbia,” Vučić stressed.
He spoke about the preliminary data, stating that the “Serbia must not stop” list undoubtedly won the most votes in Belgrade as well.
“There are elections that no one talked about tonight, and they are very important, we are talking about the elections for the Provincial Assembly of Vojvodina. You know that there are 120 deputies, of which a convincing, absolute majority is on the side of the ‘Serbia must not stop’ list. From 120 MPs, the ‘Serbia must not stop’ list will have between 67 and 69,” said Vučić.
He stated that the second-placed list is “Serbia against violence” with 28 to 29, and the third-placed list will be the “Union of Vojvodina Hungarians” with most likely nine mandates. Then there is the Socialist Party of Serbia with seven mandates, the Nada coalition with six and the Russian Party with one mandate.
“As for Serbia, based on a sample of 76 percent, ‘Serbia must not stop’ is at 46.5 percent, ‘Serbia against violence’ 23.5 percent, but without counting the votes from Kosovo. The list of ‘Serbia must not stop’ stand’ will have more than 127 mandates. The list ‘Serbia must not stand’ will have an absolute majority,” said Vučić.
He pointed out that so far they have not found a single polling station in Serbia where the list “Serbia must not stand still” received fewer votes than in the previous elections.
“As far as Belgrade is concerned, the list ‘Serbia must not stop’ is the first, the winning list in Belgrade with 38.5 percent of the votes, the list ‘Serbia Against Violence’ is in second place with 35 percent, the list ‘Nada’ is in third place with six percent and with 5.4 Socialist Party of Serbia and 5.1 Nestorović. That’s why I say that it will not be known who will form the government in Belgrade, although I am sure that the mayor will be Aleksandar Šapić,” emphasized Vučić.
6,500,165 citizens had the right to vote in the parliamentary elections, 1,669,734 in the provincial elections in Vojvodina, and 1,613,190 in the Belgrade elections.
