Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH held a Meeting with the Austrian Ambassador

The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, met today, at the headquarters of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, with the Ambassador of Austria to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georg Diwald, with whom he discussed the improvement of cooperation and the European path of our country.

The friendly relationship between the two countries was highlighted, which is reflected in various aspects, primarily in the large number of Austrian investors present in our country. Also, good relations in the field of education and culture were emphasized, and special importance is given to the relationship between the two countries by the numerous Bosnian diaspora in Austria.

It was emphasized that the existing significant economic cooperation can be intensified and improved, given that Austria is currently one of the largest investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In this regard, information was also exchanged on the interest of Austrian investors with a focus on the areas of road infrastructure, health care and education.

The interlocutors pointed out the necessity of adopting reform laws as soon as possible, but also resolving the issue of disposal of state property. It was pointed out that resolving these issues leads to the progress of our country on its European path, and the continuation of the initiated and attracting new investments. In this context, the interlocutors agreed that progress is needed on the Growth Plan, as this would enable our country to access significant European funds.

It was emphasized that Austria has so far been one of the key advocates of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path, and that it will continue to support our country’s progress in its process of accession to the European Union.

Nikšić and Diwald also noted that it is necessary to ensure the integrity of the electoral process, in order to reduce the possibility of abuse in the upcoming and all future elections.

They also exchanged opinions on the current political situation in our country, the FBiH Government’s Public Relations Office announced.
