BiH is undertaking activities at the conclusion of the Agreement on the recognition and exchange of BH driver’s licenses with other countries of the European Union, specifically with Italy and Spain, and we launched the initiative for the conclusion of the agreement with Sweden and Slovenia as well.
At the end of last year in the media appeared information that BiH and Germany reached an agreement on mutual recognition of all driving licenses, except for agricultural machinery.
However, the Ministry of Communications and Transport revealed that with Germany was agreed the exchange of three categories of driving licenses.
“In the Federal Republic of Germany was enabled the replacement of BH driver’s license of the category “A” and “B” and subcategory “A1″, without the obligation of taking the theoretical and practical exam. However, recognition and replacement of other categories and subcategories are not provided by the Joint Statement,” as stated from the Ministry of Communications and Transport.
“When it comes to the agreement with Spain, it should be noted that we are still at the stage of harmonization of the text of the agreement and that it is still not possible to determine when it will be agreed, considering that further actions depend on the other side.”
In case of Slovenia, the Ministry of Communications and Transport is waiting for the attitude of Slovenian official authorities on the conclusion of the agreement.
