Prolonged Payment of Assistance to Pensioners with the lowest Incomes

Due to an operational problem in the transfer of funds to the Federal Institute of PIO/MIO, which the Government of Tuzla Canton intended for pensioners with the lowest pension, one-time assistance of 100 BAM will not be paid with the August pension. The Government of Tuzla Canton provided 3.7 million BAM for this purpose, after which the protocol for the transfer of funds had to be signed.

“However, we were unofficially informed by telephone that we can start signing the agreement, but that the Federal Institute of PIO/MIO must not receive the funds before the commission of the Federal Ministry, which will be formed and which would regulate the transfer of these funds to the Federal Institute of PIO/ MIO, “ said the Minister for Labour, Social Policy and Return of Tuzla Canton Fadil Alić at today’s press conference.

Support for pensioners with the lowest pension, one-time in the amount of 100 BAM, is a continuation of what the Government of Tuzla Canton started the previous year and at the same time one of the measures, i.e. an integral part of the exposé of Prime Minister Irfan Halilagić.

In the previous month, the Assembly of Tuzla Canton, having adopted amendments to the Budget of TK, provided three million and 700 thousand BAM for this purpose, Minister Alić said.

He added that in recent days the Government of TC has repeatedly addressed the Federal Institute of PIO/MIO in order to get an official answer regarding this problem, which, he added, has not followed until today.

“Unfortunately, we have to state, considering the date we are in, that thanks to these procedures imposed on us and over which we have no influence, we will not be able to implement these measures with the August pension, since the calculation of pensions, i.e. the printing of checks, already started yesterday but we will look for a solution to solve this situation as soon as possible, in order to realize the funds,” emphasized the relevant minister Alić.

The FBiH government should form a body, that is, a commission that would permanently and systematically solve this issue of the inflow of unplanned funds to the account of the Federal Institute of PIO/MIO, is the information that unofficially reached the relevant cantonal ministry.

“I want to believe that this is not some kind of message to the Government of Tuzla Canton, but that it is a matter of a technical or financial nature. I hope I won’t be wrong,” Minister Alić said, according to the Government of TC.
