The OSCE Mission in B&H launched the initiative of rewarding Roma pupils in 2007 and now local institutions and government of Tuzla Canton reward students.

An exhibition of art works of students was organized within the program, as well as a round table on the inclusion of Roma in the social and cultural life of B&H, and a solemn academy.

60 best Roms pupils from the area of Tuzla Canton were rewarded.

According to OSCE spokesperson Danica Pelemić-Subotić for Fena, the Mission operates at all the levels of government, from the level of local community and municipalities to the entity and state level in order to promote politic, economic and social participation of national minorities in B&H, as well as Roma minorities, as the largest national minority in B&H.

“Access to adequate housing, employment, education, health service, social protection and equal political participation remains out of range for the vast majority of the Roma population in B&H”, she underlined.
