The Vice Prime Minister and the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry Jerko Ivanković Lijanović held a meeting in Banja Luka with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water of the RS Stevo Mirjanić. They spoke of the cooperation in the ministry of their competences to establish IPARD structures at the state level and to work together to protect local agricultural production.

Regarding the veterinary departments, it was agreed that both entities should be ensured the smooth circulation of veterinary medicinal products, regardless of registration.

The Ministers agreed to work together on projects for the planning of the Bosna River, and the willingness to work together was demonstrated for the project Neretva-Trebišnjica.

In the area of forestry, it was agreed that it was necessary to work together on disclosure of data of the National Forest Inventory.

During the discussion, Mirjanić and Ivanković-Lijanović agreed to send a joint proposal to the Council of Ministers of BIH, to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations that would be related to the introduction of protective measures for local agricultural production.

Within this framework, the harmonization of IPARD structures in order to ensure funds of the EU to BiH was underlined.
