Qatar Airways to reinforce the Line for Sarajevo?

This summer, Qatar Airways is planning to increase the number of flights to countries of the former Yugoslavia, and thus on the line Doha – Sarajevo will operate the Airbus A321 with 182 seats instead of Airbus A320 with 144 seats. Flights will take place four times a week in combination with both airplanes.

“We are planning to increase the number of flights to Sarajevo and introduce the larger Airbus A321,” stated the director of Qatar Airways, Akbar al Baker.

In the meantime, the director of the International Airport Tuzla, Rifet Karasalihovic, stated that Qatar Airways expressed interest in co-operation with that airport as well.

“Therefore, we can become an alternative to Sarajevo in case of some unfavourable weather conditions and we can later agree on the possibilities for regular flights,” said Karasalihovic.

“We believe that we need to provide more services in the Balkans, five stars services, that this region deserves. Therefore, we focused on those markets with great opportunities for benefits of both sides. We will continue looking for opportunities in this region,” said Ehab Amin, the Chief Commercial Officer of Qatar Airways.

Al Baker, the director of this company, stated that the region of the Western Balkans is expanding and experiencing large economic growth.

Zagreb will remain the most common destination of Qatar Airways in the territory of the former Yugoslavia with a total of two flights a day, and this airline is considering an increase of the capacity on that route next year as well.
