Sarajevo-Belgrade Railroad abrasmedia.infoThe Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B&H Denis Zvizdic said that the reconstruction of the railroad Belgrade – Sarajevo is one of the projects that connects the countries of the Western Balkans, and for which both Serbia and B&H consider that it must be implemented as soon as possible.

“We are placing it at the top of our priorities and hopefully at the forthcoming summit in Vienna we will manage to terminate both the financial and time dynamics in order to start with the drafting of documentation first, and then with the implementation of the project itself”, said Zvizdic to the press in Sarajevo.

The regional conference at which the infrastructure projects for the Western Balkans region will be presented is to be held in Vienna in late August.

Zvizdic explained that two types of projects exist, those regarding each of the countries, such as the internal transportation network, and those that connect the countries, such as the reconstruction of the railroad Belgrade – Sarajevo.

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers pointed out that the projects that are to be discussed at the summit in Vienna consist of two stages, actually lap times.

According to him, the first stage is related to the period until year 2023, and the second until 2030 – which is the deadline for the completion of all the projects that refer to the region of Southeastern Europe, i.e. the Western Balkans.

“Our focus is the completion of as much projects as possible in this first phase, until 2023, and that is why we will prefer the projects with complete project and technical documentation and those which enjoy the status of preparedness, so that their realization can practically begin immediately”, Zvizdic explained.
