A Facebook event called ‘Rally in Solidarity with People of Bosnia’, organized by the Balkan Queer Initiative, will take place on Saturday, 15 February in Times Square in New York City from 14:00-16:00.
On their Facebook event page, they place the protests in B&H within a wider global context, calling it a ‘’wave of protests of citizens who no longer agree to the terms of the neo-liberal social contract’’. They write that the current political system, backed by neo-liberalism, has only served to widen social and economic inequality, with politicians removed from the concerns of the majority of their citizens.
The Balkan Queer Initiative is organizing the rally.
