Ramiz Nukic from the village of Buljim in the municipality of Bratunac, has passed away today.

He dedicated his life to finding the remains, of which he handed over almost 300 to the Institute for Searching the Missing. Although he had difficult life, he never asked for money for everything he does.

For years, Ramiz Nukic from the village of Kamenica in Bratunac has been collecting the bones of Srebrenica residents killed in July 1995 while they were trying to reach free territory after the fall of Srebrenica. In 2004, he returned to his native village, under Kamenica Hill and the infamous “Bukva”, with his family. From then until today, he has found hundreds of remains of murdered innocent civilians in the forests.

Not even the mined terrain prevented him from searching. In this way, as he once said in an interview, he was trying to help the families of murdered Srebrenica residents who have been searching for the bones of their loved ones for more than two decades.
