baklava5Today is the third day of Eid al-Adha. Today we will be still visiting family, neighbors, friends … and neither visit can pass without baklava, as well as many other desserts.

If you already had some stomach problems, those ‘holiday’ ones, here are tips on how to get rid of them.

Nausea will be reduced by banana, which is rich in potassium and helps in better functioning of the digestive system. This fruit also prevents diarrhea.

Cooked rice is the best remedy for disturbed stomach because it is not rich in fibers so the digestive system can easily digest it. Toast or boiled potatoes will also help, because they will not irritate your digestive system, and they will remove all the excess fluid and thereby prevent diarrhea.

Peppermint or mint eliminates bad breath, calms the stomach and reduced nausea. Studies of the American University of Maryland confirmed that mint tea stimulates the secretion of bile, which helps in digestion of fats. Mint facilitates the passage of food through the digestive tract.

Apple vinegar improves digestion and soothes cramps. It is recommended to mix a tablespoon of apple vinegar with a spoon of honey and a glass of water, and drink it. This will calm your stomach, and if you have constipation, just dilute one to two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and drink it.
