Clinic Opening radiosarajevo.baWith the help of the World Bank and the Government of FBiH, the Clinic for Orthopedics and Traumatology of the Clinical Center University of Sarajevo was reconstructed.

“This is the biggest energy efficiency project in BiH (BEEP) worth 32 million US dollars in total, of which 19.2 million US dollars belong to the FBiH,” stated the federal Minister of Physical Planning Josip Martić at the official ceremony organized on this occasion.

Stating that the works on the Clinic have been completed in the foreseen timeframe and in accordance with high standards of the World Bank, Martić highlighted that energy costs will be reduced this winter season.

“Warming of the façade will generate savings of 110.000 BAM on annual level,” confirmed the Director of the Clinical Center University of Sarajevo Sebija Izetbegović, expressing satisfaction because patients were enabled better conditions for staying at the Clinic and staff got better working conditions.

Over the past four months, works on the Clinic for Orthopedics and Traumatology were being implemented, in order to increase energy efficiency.

“Three important measures have been implemented; new frames with lower quotient of heat pretermission were built in, 10-centimeter-thick thermal isolation was placed on the surface area of around 3.000 square meters, and the self-regulating vents that will help generate savings were also installed,” said the project leader of the World Bank for FBiH Mustafa Čopelj.

Apart from three facilities in three clinical centers (Sarajevo, Mostar and Tuzla), in this year the federal Ministry of Physical Planning also intends to implement the energy efficiency measures in additional 20 facilities – 17 educational and three health institutions. Those investments are worth more than 12 million BAM.
