plato_skenderija“The process of reconstruction of Skenderija Plateau in Sarajevo, which started in late July, will be completed in the next few days,” as confirmed by the Director of the Center Skenderija, Amer Kapo.

He reminded that the reconstruction of the plateau included changing waterproofing and removal of worn out red plates and setting the gray ones, as well as works on the steps and the final plateau decoration.

“Panels that will decorate this square are made from the finest materials and they are resistant to rain and high temperatures. In the case of damage, we will be able to replace the plates, which was not the case before,” said Kapo.

Funds for the reconstruction of the plateau were provided by the Government of Canton Sarajevo through the Development Bank with 904,000 BAM.

Plateau Skenderija is an iconic square that connects all the objects of the Center Skenderija including Dom Mladih, Art Museum of Contemporary Art Depot Ars Aevi, Economic city, the hall “Mirza Delibasic” and the Ice Hall, and it was opened with the screening of “Bitka na Neretvi” on the 29th of November 1969.
