The Development Strategy of Kotor Varoš is expected to reduce unemployment in this local community by 20 percent by 2015.

Kotor-VarošThe Mayor of Kotor Varoš Dalibor Vučanović said that there is a plan for the municipal government to stimulate employment projects in firms in this town. “We expect support for the process of creating conditions for new jobs from institutions’’, said Vučanović.

He said that special attention would be given to attracting foreing investment, adding that support to the municipality could be counted on the processing capacities in the area of wood processing, and metal and leather industries, which are the drivers of economic development in this region.

“We create conditions for the progress of agricultural production and employment of the rural population in family businesses, as well as in mini-manufacturing plants in order to stop the migration of the population from rural areas’’, said Vučanović.

He said that the municipality aims to restructure the local economy with more small and medium-sized businesses that could produce competitive products.
