A total of 20 families who have not had their own home since the war yesterday received the key to their new homes. Many of them received the keys with tears in their eyes.
The building with 20 apartments was built in the settlement of Si Selo in Tuzla. The beneficiaries are users of BiH3 State Housing Project in BiH (DPSZ), which is the subproject of the Regional Housing Program (RSP) in BiH.
The value of construction works amounts to a total of 1,203,500 BAM and the funds were secured from the donor fund of RSP and the budget of the City of Tuzla. A total amount of 223,500 BAM was allocated from the budget of the City of Tuzla for the co-financing of this subproject. Moreover, the City of Tuzla also provided land for construction, including all necessary permits and infrastructure, which amounted to 76.410 BAM.
Subproject BiH3 State Housing Project in BiH (DPSZ), is implemented within the Regional Housing Program (RSP), from the funds of the European Union, as the largest donor, as well as the United States of America, Italy, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Denmark, Turkey and other countries, and with the support of UNHCR, OSCE and the Development Bank of the Council of Europe.
Mayor of Tuzla thanked the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH and the Ministry of Refugees and Displaced Persons of the FBiH, thanks to which, with the support of donors, this project was realized.
“The users of this project are displaced persons, as well as others who are in a social need and they used alternative accommodation,” stated Mayor Imamovic.
So far, a total of 435 apartments have been handed over within this project, and 1,200 others are in the process of realization, as stated by the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of BiH.
