Do you remember the Famous TV from Yugoslavia?

iskra_tvAt the time of incredible development of technology and almost bargain prices of multimedia devices, those a bit older remember the time when they needed to work for a half of the year to buy domestic TV in color.

The former Yugoslavia had developed electronics industry that enjoyed state protection through high customs duties on imported products.

So in the mid-70s of the last century in the homes of wealthy citizens of Yugoslavia were brought televisions in color by Gorenje, Ei Nis, Iskra, RiZ, Cajavec and others…

These were the famous “lanterns” that were turned on like a diesel on the minus, and improvised “remote control” was a huge rolling pin that was used from a considerable distance to press the button to change the program.

However, there is a similarity with the current times: Large sporting events were used to attract customers to buy modern techniques. After all, take a look at advertisements for color television Gorenje and Ei Nis before the World Football Championship in 1974.
