High-ranking officials from Hamas and the Houthi rebels held meetings to discuss coordinating their actions against Israel, according to Palestinian sources.

Hamas and the Houthis belong to a group of organizations supported by Iran, which also includes Lebanese Hezbollah and Iraqi militias.

The Houthis have been attacking ships in the Red Sea for months since the war between Hamas and Israel began on October 7th, targeting ships linked to Israel in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

According to sources from Hamas and Islamic Jihad, leaders of the two Palestinian groups, as well as the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, held an “important meeting” with representatives of the Houthis last week.

The groups discussed “mechanisms for coordinating their resistance actions” for the “next phase” of the war in Gaza, sources said without specifying where the meeting took place.

Palestinian groups and the Houthis also discussed a possible Israeli ground attack on Rafah in southern Gaza, sources said, who requested anonymity.

The Houthis confirmed that they would continue their attacks on ships in the Red Sea to support Palestinians, according to sources from Hamas and Islamic Jihad, Klix.ba reports.
