Rescuers of the Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina successfully transported an injured mountaineer from Prenj Mountain.
They, in cooperation with the organizer of the visit, called a helicopter service of Republika Srpska, which responded to the call and immediately sent a helicopter to evacuate the injured.
However, in the meantime, after a 4.5-hour wait, the BiH’s Armed Forces helicopter was ordered to take off and both helicopters arrived at the scene, after which the helicopter of the Armed Forces successfully transported the injured mountaineer to the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo.
The transport of the injured was carried out by members of the GSC in the FBiH, and that first aid was provided by an ambulance team.
The injured necessitated helicopter transport to the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, which is why the FUCZ Operational Center, through the BiH Ministry of Security, immediately sent a request for a helicopter engagement, and the FUCZ members immediately went to the helicopter landing site in Sarajevo and have taken all necessary steps to safely transport the injured mountaineer to the hospital.
The accident occurred during a memorial march to Lupoglav when a mountaineer slipped and sustained multiple injuries, according to Vijesti.ba news portal.
