Reviving Relationship Between Olympic Cities Lillehammer and Sarajevo

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHaving received today the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to BiH Vibek Lilloe, the Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić thanked for the support to the government and the people of this friendly country to Sarajevo and BiH.

“All our activities are focused in order to help BiH on the path to Euro Atlantic integration. Norway is included in the sectors of justice and security, and economic and civil society development’’, said the Ambassador of Norway.

Ambassador Lilloe expressed readiness to be in close cooperation with the administration of the City of Sarajevo and to implement smaller projects from funds by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway.

On this occasion, the Ambassador pointed out the revival of ties between the Olympic cities of Lillehammer and Sarajevo, and added that Sarajevo could count on the support of the European Winter Olympic Festival for the Youth, which will be the host in 2017 together with East Sarajevo.

Mayor Komšić thanked the Ambassador for her interest in Sarajevo and BiH. He pointed to the full openness of Sarajevo for cooperation, and confirmed that the new city administration will convey ideas and projects to the Embassy in order to improve the quality of life for BiH citizens in the capital, and they relate to problems of stray dogs, solving the problems of architectural barriers that disabled people face, as well as projects in the area of infrastructure, announced the City of Sarajevo.
