Rocket Attacks from Yemen and Lebanon on the central and northern Part of Israel

Two separate attacks from Yemen and Lebanon hit central and northern Israel this morning, local media reported.

First, a rocket fired from Yemeni territory hit central Israel early this morning and set off warning sirens across the country, the IDF said.

As the IDF announced, interceptor rockets were activated in the middle of the incident. Footage can be seen on social media showing smoke near the Route 1 highway in central Israel, apparently from shrapnel after the IDF tried to shoot down a ballistic missile from Yemen.

Footage shows damage to an escalator at a train station on the outskirts of Modiin, some 25 kilometers east of Tel Aviv. Police say they are searching for shrapnel in the Judean Plain east of Tel Aviv.
The IDF said that the missile landed in an open area and did not injure anyone.

However, the Magen David Adom Rescue Service says it treated nine people who were injured as they made their way to shelters during the attack. They also say that five people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Meanwhile, Hebrew-language media sources report that a drone launched from Lebanon exploded in the town of Metula on the northern border.

No one was injured, but according to initial information, there is material damage. Some reports say the drone exploded before the sirens went off. The IDF later announced that the incident was over.
