A roundtable will be held in Sarajevo on on 22 April on the topic “Application of system access to budget data from one place”. The goal is better communication and continued dialogue on budget issues.
The roundtable will be organized in the framework of the project “Enabling access to budget data from one place”, whose goal is to launch the widest debate on efficiency, priorities and effects of the process of determining the budget in BiH.
Among the goals is education and informing BiH citizens on the budgeting process, as well as raising awareness of their rights to free access to information to public funds.
The EU Delegation to BiH announced that the project is aimed at increasing the participation of citizens in the democratic process in BiH and those interested in issues concerning public finance, distribution of national income and social development.
The worth of this two-year project, which is being implemented since January, is 127.722 euros, from which 99.000 euros are from the EU and European instruments for democracy and human rights for 2011.
The Deputy Head of the EU will give introductory speeches and presentation at the roundtable to BiH Renzo Daviddi and representatives of the BiH Ministry of Finance and entities.
There will be representatives from all levels of BIH government at the roundtable, nonprofit organizations and media that will present and spoke on issues that include the preparation and execution of the budget, and realization of the connection between budget transparency and corruption in the public sector.
