RS President comments on the Initiative to Impeach Banja Luka Mayor

SNSD president Milorad Dodik said that the initiative to impeach the mayor of Banja Luka has long existed in the Banja Luka committee of SNSD, but also that it should be “well evaluated what benefits it can bring”.

Dodik said that the impeachment referendum is a very dangerous political matter, and cited the impeachment of the mayor of Bijeljina, Ljubisa Petrovic, as an example.

“There we gave in to our people in Bijeljina and when the referendum did not pass, we only strengthened the opposing side,” Dodik told reporters in Banja Luka.

Moreover, he pointed out yesterday that he requested a meeting between the leadership of the SNSD and the party’s City Committee of Banja Luka in order to discuss the situation.

“As far as SNSD’s leadership and its Executive Committee and me as president are concerned, we have not yet made a decision,” Dodik emphasized.

Yesterday, the SNSD Banja Luka City Committee signed petitions for the impeachment of Banja Luka mayor Drasko Stanivukovic.

The president of the SNSD Banja Luka City Committee, Vlado Djajic, said two days ago that the reason for the petition was the initiative of the people of Banja Luka, who have daily complaints about Stanivukovic’s work, Klix.ba reports.
