RS sends the Civil Protection Team to Slovenia

The Government of Republika Srpska has given consent to the Republic Administration of Civil Protection to send a team of 12 members to Slovenia after the catastrophic floods.

At today’s session, the ministers were informed about Slovenia’s request for international assistance through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and the capacities of the Civil Protection Administration of the Republic to respond to this request, the Public Relations Bureau of the Government of Republika Srpska announced.

The Republic Administration of Civil Protection, with the engagement of economic entities, will make available to Slovenia two crawler excavators and a team of 12 members of the Republic Administration, which will be like the Republika Srpska team as part of the total assistance provided from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The floods that hit Slovenia at the end of last week were declared the worst natural disaster. Two-thirds of the country was devastated, many lost their homes, and six people lost their lives.

The Government of the Republika Srpska adopted at today’s session, the Information on the additional funds needed to rehabilitate damage caused by natural disasters to primary and secondary school facilities in the Republika Srpska.

The Government of the Republika Srpska and the Ministry of Education and Culture will provide additional financial resources in the Budget of the Republic of Srpska for the rehabilitation of the walkways on all school buildings that were damaged during the last weather disaster in the Republka Srpska.

The Ministry of Education and Culture expects that additional financial support will be provided by the UNDP and the Fund for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency of the Republik Srpska, and that through joint efforts, all the necessary conditions for the completion of the planned works will be provided by the beginning of the new school year.

The Government of the Republika Srpska has familiarized itself with the Information on activities related to negotiations regarding the conclusion of a Special Collective Agreement for employees in the administrative bodies of the Republika Srpska.

In this regard, the Government of Republika Srpska sent recommendations for the further continuation of negotiations regarding the conclusion of the Special Collective Agreement.

Also, the Government of the Republika Srpska approved the Decision on establishing work permit quotas for the employment of foreign citizens and stateless persons in the Republika Srpska for the year 2024.

The Government of Republika Srpska also adopted the Information on the project “Support for the prevention and fight against migrant smuggling and human trafficking in the Western Balkans”.

The Government of the Republika Srpska adopted a Decision approving the payment of financial resources for the period 01.01. until 30.09.2023. year, underdeveloped and extremely underdeveloped units of local self-government in the amount of 1,500,000.00 BAM.
