Nikšić: The atmosphere of talks and negotiations is an indicator that progress is being made in BiH
SDP President Nermin Nikšić stated that the atmosphere of talks and negotiations that has returned will be an indicator towards the EU that progress is being made in BiH that will qualify for the opening of negotiations.
Nikšić said that it is very important to have a rhythm, even in situations when it is not possible to agree on everything.
“The government in BiH and at other levels is trying to fulfill its conditions and be a credible partner,” Nikšić said at a press conference after a meeting of political partners at the BiH level held in Mostar.
He said that the focus of the talks, in addition to the law, was also on the framework budget of BiH institutions for the next and next three years.
“This is important for both me and the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković, so that we can take into account the obligations and possibilities of the entity budgets,” said Nikšić, who is also the Prime Minister of the FBiH.
Nikšić said that this atmosphere will be maintained in order to contribute, because every success is an additional motivation to negotiate even more and find solutions.
Višković: We are discussing the possibility of distributing the revenues of the Central Bank of BiH
SNSD Vice President Radovan Višković said that at the meeting of political partners at the BiH level, it was agreed that the Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH would submit to them the budget proposal of the Council of Ministers, and stated that the possibility of distributing part of the revenues of the Central Bank of BiH to the entity budgets was also discussed.
Višković said that significant revenues are expected from the Central Bank of BiH this year, recalling that 60 percent of that revenue goes to the budget of joint institutions.
“We do not yet know the exact amount. The Minister of Finance will certainly make an effort to find out what amount he can count on in a conversation with people from the Central Bank, since 60 percent goes to the budget of joint institutions, and 40 percent remains as a mandatory reserve,” Višković said at a press conference after the meeting in Mostar.
Višković, who is also the Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska, stated that the possibility of distributing part of those funds to the entity budgets was also discussed at the meeting, without violating legal provisions.
“All of this will be the subject of preparation that the Minister of Finance should do for all of us,” said Višković.
The meeting in Mostar was attended by the leaders of the SNSD Milorad Dodik, HDZ BiH Dragan Čović, SDP Nermin Nikšić, People and Justice Party Elmedin Konaković and Our Party Edin Forto.
This is the third meeting of the partners in government at the BiH level in the past few weeks, with previous meetings being held in East Sarajevo and Banja Luka, Srna writes.
