mladic2The Russian government will give guarantees to the Hague Tribunal for the temporary release of the former Commander of the Main Staff of the Serbia, General Ratko Mladić.

This decision of the Russian government was made after a detailed insight of a team of Russian doctors into medical records that showed Mladić’s serious health condition.

After last week’s visit of doctors from Russia to Hague, a meeting of the defense team of Mladić and Russian diplomats in the Netherlands should be held today, and it is expected that Kremlin will take steps for the Mladić’s treatment in Russia.

“Preliminary results of medical tests that Mladić underwent in the detention unit were immediately sent to Moscow today, and regarding that a meeting of members of the defense team of General Mladić and Russian diplomats in the Netherlands should be held in the premises of the Russian Embassy in Hague.”

According to those allegations, the Russian ambassador will send a letter to the Kremlin with detailed proposal of further steps with regard to Mladić’s status, after which it is expected that the government of Russia, as soon as possible, sends a written guarantees to the Hague Tribunal for temporary provisional release of Mladić and his treatment in one of the reference health institutions in Russia.
