Russians to build on Zelengora and Bilećko Lake?

bileckoLandscapes of Zelengora and Bilećko Lake are lately in the center of the interest of Russian investors, who mostly invested in the Montenegrin coast, and now want to build private houses on this area.

Vaso Milić, the owner of real estate agency “Tviko” from Trebinje, said that in the last few days several thousand square meters of land in the regions of Zelengora, the region Ljubomir between Trebinje and Ljubinje, as well as the area south of Trebinje, to Popovo field were sold.

He added that the possibility of serious investment on these locations is not excluded.

“The Russians have shown great interest for the entire area of eastern Herzegovina, from Trebinje to Gacko, especially in the area of Bilećko Lake and Zelengora, or more specifically village Vrbnica, where they have already started purchasing 2000 – 3000 square meters. They want to install prefabricated houses on this area,” said Milić.

He added that the Russians were surprised by the low prices of the land here, since 1 square meter on Zelengora costs between 5 and 20 BAM, and it is the most attractive part of the land near Orlovačko Lake. Its beauty was recognized by Emir Kusturica who filmed the scenes for his movie “On the Milky Road” on this site.

He explained that the City Administration of Bileća has already divided this area into 60 locations on the shores of Bilećko Lake and that the agency “Tviko” was a mediator for the seven Russian buyers who have already bought seven sites along the coast. The part of the divided area is still being negotiated with an investor from the Czech Republic, who, according to Milić, is the owner of a chain of river submarines and would most certainly develop this type of tourism at the Bilećko Lake.
