Sanjin Sefic handed over to the Correctional Facility in Sarajevo

sanjin-seficSanjin Sefic was handed over to members of the Judicial Police of FBiH to the detention unit of the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo last night.

Members of the Judicial Police of the FBiH took Sefic through the back door for safety reasons.

He is suspected of killing two students, Selma Agic and Edita Malkoc, in the center of Sarajevo in a car accident that took place on the 10th of October 2016.

Sefic was in extradition custody in Novi Sad for more than two months. After the accident, which happened on the 10th of October last year, Sefic fled from BiH, but he was arrested in Serbia on the 12th of October.

Several students gathered in front of the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo to wait for Sefic. They brought a banner with the inscription “Murder, not an accident!”

“Tomorrow will be three months since the car accident in which were killed Edita Malkoc and Selma Agic. Today, the process of extradition of Sefic is finally finalized. We expect an adequate implementation of existing legislation and approaches to the case in an objective and impartial way. We demand that the perpetrator is held responsible and bears the consequences of his actions. We think that he should get the longest sentence under the law, which would actually be a model for all similar behaviors in the future,” said Lamija Spahic from informal groups of students of Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, which organized a protest meeting in Sarajevo twice since the death of their colleagues.
