Sarajevo Canton declares a Day of Mourning

The Government of Sarajevo Canton made a Decision to declare a Day of Mourning in the area of ​​Sarajevo Canton due to the traffic accident that happened yesterday, when a tram derailed in the city center, killing one person and injuring four others.

At the session, it was decided that tomorrow, February 14, will be the Day of Mourning in Sarajevo Canton.

“This accident has deeply shaken us all, the entire community, and our thoughts and sincere sympathy are with those who are going through an irreparable loss. The Government of KS is continuously monitoring information about the health condition of those injured in this accident. The Prime Minister and Ministers of the Government of KS wish a speedy and successful recovery to the injured, with the message that all the institutions of Sarajevo Canton are available to provide the necessary support in order to alleviate the extremely difficult consequences of this tragic event,” it was announced after the session.

As they stated, the Sarajevo Canton Government continues to sit, monitor the situation and continuously be in contact with all competent institutions.

The Sarajevo Canton Government denies, as they emphasized, unverified information published in certain media, regarding the decision to declare a Day of Mourning and general information from the session. As they emphasize, until the end of the investigation, no one is authorized to provide any information about this case. With the completion of the investigation and determination of all relevant facts, the KS Government will insist on the full responsibility of those responsible and sanctions, according to the statement.
