Sarajevo International Airport records Increase in Number of Passengers

Sarajevo Airport had 144,013 passengers in September, which is more than in the same month last year (143,824).

Very fascinating that the airport received more passengers than last year when it had a base with two Wizz Air planes.

Compensating the Wizz Air base is a truly huge undertaking, writes Zamaaero. This is 36.7 percent more passengers than in the same month of 2019 (105,370).

The airport achieved 1,362 operations (1,568 in September 2022). Sarajevo achieved 345.1 tons of cargo, which is significantly more than in the same month last year (212 tons).

Since the beginning of the year, Sarajevo has handled 1,082,519 passengers and 2,041.0 tons of cargo.

It will be very interesting to see if Sarajevo will surpass last year’s number of passengers regardless of the loss of the Wizz Air base. The same is possible, and if it doesn’t happen, it will be very close, certainly over 1.3 million passengers.
