Which Sarajevo Municipality has the biggest Number of Tourist Arrivals?

According to the Institute of Informatics and Statistics of the Canton Sarajevo (CS) for the period from January to November 2017, the Municipality of Ilidza remained the leader in CS by the number of tourist arrivals and realized overnight stay, number of accommodation units and beds.

In the first 11 months of 2017, the CS was visited by 454.029 tourists, which made 915.095 overnight stays, and the number of registered arrivals in Ilidza in the same period was 162.889 tourists, which generated 303.640 overnight stays, and the balance was surpassed in 2016.

There are 27 accommodation facilities in the Municipality of Ilidza – 23 hotels, one hotel settlement – auto camp, motel, hostel and female student dormitory with 1.810 accommodation units and 4.054 beds.

Ilidza hotels are equipped with other facilities – congress halls, SPA centers, restaurants, summer gardens, festive lounges, outdoor and indoor pools, sports halls and other support facilities, which improve the tourists’ attempt to visit BiH again.

Along with all of the above, there are 203 catering facilities in the Municipality of Ilidza, which also complement the touristic offer.

“Municipality of Ilidza continuously carries out activities on the quality of the total touristic offer, including infrastructure investments, development of strategic and planning documentation, improvement of communal conditions, setting up of tourist signs and information boards in the most frequent places and co-financing projects that support tourism development and environmental protection, as well as support for cultural and sports manifestations, “ it was announced from the Information Department of Ilidza Municipality.
