Sarajevo records new Cases of Coronavirus

The results of PCR and antigen testing in the past 24 hours confirmed 514 new cases of coronavirus infection in Sarajevo Canton. Five people died as a result of the disease, according to the CS Public Health Institute.

In the same period, 863 people recovered from Covid-19 infection. Currently, 229 patients are in hospital, of which 219 have an acute infection. The share of unvaccinated persons in the number of hospitalized is 78.17 percent.

154 patients are being treated at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, and 65 at the General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakas”. There are seven people using respirator, 14 of them use non-invasive ventilation, while seven patients are on oxygen support.

Today, Sarajevo Canton records 5,916 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Since the beginning of the pandemic in the Sarajevo Canton, a total of 93,064 people infected with coronavirus and 85,387 cured have been registered.

“The average daily number of cases in the past seven days is 876,” according to the Public Health Institute of CS.

In the Covid-outpatient clinics of the Public Institution Health Center CS, 1,207 patients were examined, five of whom were transported for hospital treatment. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and in Semizovac and Novi Grad are open every day from 7:30 to 20:00.

In the past day, 437 people were vaccinated in CS.

The Ministry of Health of CS once again calls on the citizens to get vaccinated, in order to preserve their own and the health of the people in their environment. They also thank the citizens for their cooperation and call on them to continue to respect all prescribed hygienic and epidemiological measures.
