Sarajevo Resort High Class Tourism faktor.baOn the occasion of the official opening of the tourist-residential settlement Sarajevo Resort in Osenik, which belongs to the Municipality Hadzici, the Mayor of that Municipality Hamdo Ejubovic pointed out the significance on investing in tourism. The Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton Elmedin Konakovic emphasized that only positive effects are visible.

“Given the needs and requests of tourist from Arab countries, I believe a minimum of 50 workers will be hired in this complex during the season”, Konakovic concluded.

However, a question arises – how ready B&H is for high class tourism, which is the primary purpose of the complex in Osenik?

“This project is a proof how a local community can lead major projects. At the beginning, there was skepticism because of ambitions and deadlines, but as you can see everything was done on time. I believe this market can offer tourism to the high class, but also to the middle class”, the Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton Elmedin Konakovic stated.

There are several positive things regarding Sarajevo Resort. Domestic companies have been working on the construction, the Municipality collected rent and VAT, and what is probably the most important is the positive experience of the investors.

Konakovic noted that B&H became an interesting country in many spheres in the Arab countries due to war events.  An increasing number of Arab tourists are showing interest and want to invest in B&H, which was also contributed to by the positive experiences of the investor who invested in Sarajevo Resort.

“The prevalent opinion until now was that our friends from the Arab countries invest more in the countries of the region than in B&H. It seems to me that this trend is slowly changing, but it is also up to us and we also have to contribute to that”, Konakovic said.
