The City of Sarajevo in cooperation with the Federal Office of Public Health has developed a manual of healthy nutrition intended for schoolchildren, parents and teachers in order to improve the health of children and youth.
In October, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton the action of distributing the guides ‘healthy diet of school children’ in 73 primary schools will be organized in Sarajevo Canton.
The authors of this manual are Dr. Aida Filipovic Hadžiomeragić and Dr. Aida Vilić Švraka. The manual is printed in 6.570 copies.
By distributing the guides ‘healthy diet of school children’ the first phase of implementation of the program will be completed, to improve the health of young people in the city of Sarajevo in the promotion of proper nutrition and physical activities.
The main objective of this program is to establish school kitchens in all schools with a menu composed of healthy and freshly prepared food and then to ensure that shops within schools will offer only healthy and nutritionally acceptable items.
