tunel 1.3.The ceremony for the occasion of the second phase of works on the Tunnel 1 March was marked on Saturday. The work was finished 2 months before the schedule, while at the same time works are being done on the third phase, and which include the furnishing of the tunnel with electromechanical equipment, fire protection, traffic and technology for managing the tunnels and drainage systems. For the first time in this area, one tunnel will be done with LED lighting.

‘’Last year, precisely on this day, the Tunnel 1 March was pierced, which is one of the longest tunnels on Corridor 5C, and the work was done by the consortium of B&H companies who were previously subcontractors. Local companies with over 300 employees were engaged in the second phase of construction. This project will connect and bring closer two economic centers of Sarajevo and Zenica, and will come even closer to achieving what was promised, and that is for our citizens to have 102 kilometers of modern highway in 2014 and one of the most modern tunnels in Corridor 5C, the Tunnel 1 March’’, said Ensad Karić, Director of ‘Autoceste FB&H’.

Modern, built by European standards, Tunnel 1 March will shorten the distance between Zenica and Sarajevo by six kilometers.
