Two triathletes were hospitalized after competing at the Olympic Games in Paris, and it is suspected that they fell ill after swimming in the polluted Seine River.
The Belgian Claire Michel has been suffering from an infection with E. Coli bacteria for several days, which is why her team withdrew from the competition, and the Swiss Adrien Briffod became seriously ill after the men’s race and now both are hospitalized.
There is no official confirmation yet whether they actually got sick from swimming in the Paris river.
