High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt held a new meeting with EUFOR Force Commander in BiH Florin-Marian Barbu, and the topic of discussion was the current security situation in the country.

In a press release after the meeting, the OHR emphasized that the EUFOR reserve forces were also discussed.

“A substantive meeting between High Representative Christian Schmidt and EUFOR Commander Major General Florin-Marian Barbu on the activities that the European Union Force (EUFOR) in BiH is currently conducting, with special attention to the current activities of EUFOR and the reserve forces for BiH,” the OHR stated.

During the meeting, the special role that the OHR and EUFOR have in this situation was also emphasized.

“High Representative Schmidt highlighted the key role that both EUFOR and OHR play in maintaining stability and security in BiH. Coordinated efforts by EUFOR and OHR to implement the Dayton Agreement, its civilian and military aspects, and to maintain peace and order in BiH remain crucial,” they concluded in a press release.
