The High Representative of the International Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, with his associates, visited the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first time since taking office, where he met with the president and members of the CEC of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The CEC members spoke with Schmidt about the organization and implementation of the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina scheduled for Sunday, October 2, 2022.
President of the Central Election Commission of BiH Suad Arnautović informed the HR about the challenges that the Central Election Commission of BiH is facing or may face during the election process in BiH.
The challenge of fully filling the election committees with members and their deputies due to the failure to submit a sufficient number of proposals by certain political subjects was particularly highlighted.
The second thing that Arnautović drew attention to and asked for the support of the HR was the police monitoring of sensitive election material on the night of October 1 to 2.
The High Representative Christian Schmidt thanked the president and members of the Central Election Commission of BiH for the information received and said that he will monitor all election activities and react in accordance with his competencies.
