Scholz: The Future of BiH must not be endangered, everyone must oppose Secessionism

After yesterday’s meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also commented on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), more precisely on the future of our country.

”The endangering of the future of BiH and promoting secessionism cannot happen. Everyone must oppose this. Elections will be held in BiH this year,” Scholz pointed out in an address to the press after the conversation with Vucic.

He confirmed that he asked Vucic that Serbia joins the European Union (EU) sanctions against Russia.

”Sanctions are very effective, much more effective than those introduced after the annexation of the Crimean peninsula. Everyone must know that sanctions will not just disappear after the war. The condition for changing the situation will be that Russia cannot dictate, but must negotiate with Ukraine, which will protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine,” he stressed.

He noted that it was important for as many countries as possible to join the sanctions. He also confirmed that he would restart the Berlin Process, which would be used to try to speed up the integration of the Western Balkan countries into the EU.

Addressing the media, Vucic also pointed out that the Chancellor of Germany demanded that Serbia sanctions Russia as well.
